On hypotheses 1: The joy of a pet hypothesis

The joy of a pet hypothesis
POV
You’re a scientist
Life is complicated
Experiments go wrong
Analyses and paper reading
Yield no clear interpretation
It’s a bad time
All of a sudden
A good hypothesis pops up
It matches what went wrong in the experiments
It lines up with the analyses and papers
But there isn’t a deadringer experiment
It is such a joy
To have a hypothesis
It is so joyous
All the uncertainties
And the other projects
Seems to pale before it
The ego is happy
The world is happy
One shouldn’t be too absorbed by it though
For it could be quite wrong
Or it could lead to
A lot of time wasted
Chasing a strong feeling
One should have other means of feeling good
While keeping the hypothesis around
For if it is true
It will be a great blessing
