Gaming or Gambling - Part 4

Why have I fallen out of love of gambling games?
First, I learned a whole lot of statistics and had the time to internalise what I learnt. The idea that 1% success to get the best card also means 99% failure. The idea of independent outcomes - buying more packs doesn't mean the chance per pack increases. The idea that these games are rigged from the start to never guarantee happiness or a good time.
Second, I learned a whole lot about money. Every extra pack bought is more money spent. More money spent at a chance (let alone an abysmally low chance) rather than a guarantee. Why do I want to spend money at a chance when I could spend money on a guarantee. An experience.
Third, time flows differently! When I was young. I had all the time in the world and gambling over hours felt okay. Now, the scarcity of time and feeling happier over other things have made me realise how much time I have spent just gambling and hoping. I could have spent that time trying new experiences with a higher happiness per time ratio.
Lastly, I crave different experiences. The art and reward of these gambling games are a pleasant aesthetic experience. However, I have come to realise I can have better, more meaningful experiences in my life. Spending time with my best friends, family. Improving my clothes, my house, my image, etc. Going on new adventures to new places with new people. Sure, they’re a gamble too. My friends and family can make me feel sad as much as they make me feel happy. The novelty of the improvements might or might not last. I might or might not enjoy the new adventures and people. But those experiences make me more of who I am today than the hours spent gambling for waifus.
